One reason I chose WashU is that every single graduate student receives full tuition remission and a fellowship. The faculty and staff of the chemistry department are also committed to finding external funding for graduate students through competitive programs such as the Hertz Foundation, the Ford Foundation, National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship, and the National Science Foundation, providing hands-on workshops to create successful applications. Through the department’s support and the significant support of my advisor Jonathan Barnes, I was selected as a 2018 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow.
