Dr. Lee Sobotka has been invited to speak at the AIHA 2024 Professional Development Conference on the topic "St. Louis Legacy Waste and Radiation Health Effects: What We Know, What We Don't Know, and What We Agree Needs to Happen Next"
Speakers Dr. Roger Lewis (SLU) and Dr. Lee Sobotka (WUSTL Chem) will discuss the history of the Mallinckrodt legacy waste in St. Louis and what the scientific evidence suggest about the health hazards of this waste to the community, as well as how regulators responded to the event and the media influenced people to think about risks posed by the legacy radioactive waste.
