I applied to WashU chemistry department mainly because it was in the Midwest and close to home. I have been surprised by the top-notch research and rigorous academics that take place in the department. Rather than making me feel inadequate, the graduate program is developing my knowledge, skills, and character to not only take part, in but contribute to my field.
