Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony

In conjunction with the WashU Alumni Reunion Weekend/Thurtene Carnival, the Chemistry Department is excited to host the first-ever Chemistry Homecoming for our alums. During the Chemistry Homecoming, we will be hosting the Chemistry Department Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony to honor alumni who have achieved distinction in their careers and who exemplify scientific excellence, leadership, and integrity. We will also be hosting a Homecoming Reception to celebrate and bring together our local and visiting alumni.

Nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award were submitted by individuals of the WashU community and previous alumni. After a meticulous selection process, the Chemistry Department is excited to announce Professor Robert Guy Griffin (PHD `69), Dr. Eric Furfine (BA `81), and Dr. Natalie LaFranzo (PHD `13) as the awardees.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, April 17th at 3:00 pm in Wrighton Hall 300. A Homecoming Reception in the Rettner Gallery of Wrighton Hall will take place from 4-5:30pm, immediately following the award ceremony. We encourage you to attend the ceremony, enjoy light refreshments + drinks, and to celebrate and reconnect with other chemistry alums!
